I did much the same thing when I started gardening, borrowing a clump of violets from my mom, to regret it later. I think I’ve since weeded them out, but if they do crop up, there’s one reason to keep some around, if you can manage to keep them in check.

Violets grow wild all through my lawn, so lovely when they flower. I think that I will try some candied violets mayself this year, they sound beautiful.
